Biography
Dr. Bernier is a defence scientist at Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC). He is the team leader of the Military Weapons and Platform Integrity group, part of the Mission Critical Cyber Security section. His initial research work focused on modeling and simulation applied to complex problems, including fratricide mitigation, complex military situations and agile command and control. Since 2012, he has been working on the cyber security of embedded systems and military platforms. His research works aims to better understand and improve the cyber security posture of embedded systems. He is interested in tools and methods for studying vulnerability, kinetics cyber effects, covert channels, embedded networks, embedded wireless cyber security, cyber security of microcontrollers, intrusion detection systems, and reverse engineering.
